The day after Christmas, Brenna woke up to find that someone had left a sink faucet running overnight, filling their bathroom with water.

Can you tell us a little about what happened?
Someone in the middle of the night, the day after Christmas, went to the restroom and left the faucet on, and of course, it flooded.
We didn’t find it till a kid opened the bathroom because we keep the doors closed because we’ve got dogs and we don’t want them getting in the trash.
So once a kid woke up at 7:00 a.m., they opened the door to inches of water in the bathroom.
So yes. Not very happy.
What were the next steps you took? Did you reach out to a restoration company then?

I had called another restoration company, and they acted like everything I was doing was right. I had fans in the bathroom. I had a dehumidifier. They acted like I didn’t need them.
But then when I realized it was going to be a bigger fix, then I called insurance. And they said, “You do need a restoration company.”
So they recommended you guys, and that’s when I called, and Burggraf handled it from there.
How did Burggraf start off the restoration process?
Well, you guys did a more thorough investigation or checked into things more.
They hammered and saw that moisture was further in. The previous company that I had called, they didn’t. They just did surface levels, and I don’t think that all the moisture would’ve been caught with them.
So I appreciated you guys checking everything out and finding the moisture level and all that.
How did the project proceed from there?
Well, I felt like I could trust you guys.
I felt like everyone I talked to was really good, and I felt good about listening.
You guys did the removal. You guys helped move my stuff into the storage. You guys handled the demo, the insurance. Then the wood guys did the wood floor, and I pretty much did everything else.
But you guys were amazing. Robert, he handled insurance, and he was amazing. He would tell me what to expect. He knew both sides, so I appreciated that.
And then you guys did what you needed to. And it all worked out.
Were you able to stay home during the restoration process?
We were home. Once the wood floors were done, when they had to stain them, that’s the only time we left.

I’m always paranoid, and I always feel like I’m getting screwed in the end. But I didn’t get screwed, and I appreciate that.
Dakota was really good, too. I wasn’t very happy with the wood guys, but Dakota was a very good back-and-forth person. I would tell Dakota, “This is not right.” And he was good about contacting the wood guys, getting that fixed, and whatnot.
